Coutts Million Pound Donor Report 2015

Coutts' 2015 Million Pound Donor Report offers invaluable insight into major donations (£1m+). In the UK the number of million pound donations increased by only 2% (298 donations) but the value of these donations increased by 15% to £156bn. The report also found that London is the philanthropy capital of the UK with 192 of the 298 gifts - equating to £1.05bn or two-thirds of the UK's total value.

City crowdfunding evening raises over £15k for charity

The latest City Funding Network event raised nearly £16k for charities in less than half an hour. The evening hosted at The Blind Pig, the basement speak-easy of The Anthropologist, saw three different charities given six minutes each to pitch to a room full of young City professionals for vital funds. Attendees were then given the opportunity to pledge money during a live crowd-funding session which led to a total of £15,868 being raised.

The session will explore why - based on current trends and future predictions - foundations will need to improve upon how they respond to disasters to better meet the needs of vulnerable populations globally. Over the course of the webinar, evidence will be drawn from the latest research which shows the extent of disaster grantmaking, gaps in the type and nature of funding and how to better understand the 'disaster lifecycle'.

Funding Network: Festive Funding Event

The Funding Network are rounding off 2015 in style with a members-only festive fundraiser with four charities, mince pies, mulled wine and entertainment from the London Youth Choir.

Attendees will hear brief pitches from four hand-picked charities who are looking for financial support and then be given the opportunity to pledge money in a live-crowdfunding round.

CAF World Giving Index 2015

The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) World Giving Index, now in its sixth year, is a leading authority on global generosity. By measuring three different kinds of giving, it provides a simple and universally understood picture of charitable behaviour across the world.

The CAF World Giving Index is scored by averaging the percentage of people in each country who donated money, volunteered or helped a stranger in the previous month. For this year’s report 145 countries were surveyed, representing around 96% of the world’s population.
