Philanthropic Lives was created, by JP Morgan, in response to the most common questions asked by philanthropists - what are others doing to make a difference? The book brings together the stories of 31 of the worlds "most prominent and inspiring" philanthropists. The book aims to show how each philanthropic journey is unique and the variety of approaches available.
The book includes in depth profiles on 31 philanthropists of all ages and from around the world, including Sir Ronald Cohen, Anant Shah and Niklas & Catherine Zennström. These individuals have dedicated substantial financial resources as well as time, heart and thought to helping others. This book highlights the diverse range of causes supported by philanthropists from empowering the poor in Mexico through vocational education to new approaches to tackling climate change to developing a vibrant social sector in China.
JP Morgan, who are also long-term supporters of the Beacon Awards for Philanthropy, hope this resource will show the variety of approaches to philanthropy that are available to those at the start of their journey.
