This latest report from Nesta and the University of Cambridge examines the growth, trends and dynamics within the UK alternative finance sector including crowdfunding and p2p lending.

The report reveals that in 2014 the alternative finance market is expected to grow to £1.74 billion (161% increase). It is expected that by the end of the year the alternative finance market in the UK will have provided over £1bn of growth and capital to small and medium-sized enterprises. This financial market is also providing significant benefits to projects benefiting society with three in four backers of projects with a social focus using funds on top of what they would normally give to charity.
